What is pelvic health physical therapy?
Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is a holistic treatment approach that considers your overall health. An evaluation will review your bladder, bowel, and sexual wellness, postural and low back health.
My pelvic health treatment plans includes a thorough medical history review and conversation about your health goals, concerns, past medical and personal experiences.
While I am trained in completing intravaginal and digital rectal pelvic floor muscle exams, not every patient seeking pelvic health physical therapy needs to receive an internal exam. I offer all of my patients three different pelvic health exam options; 2 which involve keeping clothes on. I invite you to select the one that makes you feel most comfortable.
Often times treating the low back and hips can optimize your pelvic floor health and vice versa. I offer a comprehensive low back and hip exam, to honor the proximity of these important joint structures to your pelvic floor. So, if you schedule with me for pelvic health physical therapy, I won’t just treat your pelvic floor, I will treat the whole you.
I treat all genders, ages 10+!
